“Baoshan Lu” is a MIDI controller designed and built by Budoy and CoolieDread. It is also a street name in Shanghai, China where all electronics and parts of the controller was purchased. For those who are new to MIDI, it means “Musical Instrument Digital Interface”. To simplify things, it’s a replacement instrument for controlling sounds. E.g. Guitars, Keyboards, Drums, Percs or could be any sound. It could be in piano keys form, or a drum kit, but in this build, it is an art installation by Budoy based on a traditional chinese gong. Dubhead series is a yearly event that happens every December. Gathering all bass heads and paying respects to the mother of all electronic music genre which is DUB.
